3 Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Eating breakfast just like every meal is important, it helps kick start your metabolism and provides you with the energy to start your day. Eating a breakfast which is high in protein with carbohydrates helps keep you fuller longer whilst feeding your muscles but unfortunately we often skip breakfast as we raced to get the kids ready for school and ourselves to work.

To help you out I’ve put together my 3 favourite breakfast meals which are super quick and easy to put together for you to woof down before you race out the door for the day.

Overnight Proats

Quite possibly my favourite breakfast (even more so the B&E’s) is overnight proats. Make them the night before and store in the fridge and they’ll give you a refreshing breakfast on a warm morning.

Ingredients

1 serve (45g) oats

1 scoop of your favourite flavour whey protein

1 cup 250ml of almond milk

Mixed all of the ingredients together and store them in the fridge overnight. Add mixed berries or ground cinnamon for added anti-oxidants

Cal – 333

Carbs – 30g

Protein – 31.3g

Fat Total – 8.4g

Iced Coffee Protein Smoothie

This smoothie is great for when you’re short on time and need to drink your breakfast on the go. Super refreshing with a hit of caffeine #perfect

Ingredients

1 cup of cold black coffee

2/3 cup of almond milk

1 scoop of vanilla whey protein

1 banana

Ice

Add all of the ingredients together and blend, poor into a shaker or drink bottle and away you go.

Cal – 250

Carbs – 25.4g

Protein – 27.7g

Fat Total – 3.4g

 

Scramble Egg, Avocado, Smoked Salmon & Toast

The perfect weekend breakfast packed full of protein, healthy fats and carbs this is a go to breakfast for me on the weekend.

Ingredients

2 whole eggs

2 egg white

50 grams of smoked salmon

2 slices of wholemeal bread

¼ (40g) of an avocado

Whisk the eggs and eggs whites together and scramble until cooked to your liking whilst you toast is cooking. Spread ¼ of an avocado across the 2 slices of toast and add the smoked salmon. Top with your scrambled eggs. Pour a coffee, sit back and relax

Cal – 447

Carbs – 32.2g

Protein – 28.6g

Fat Total – 21.2g

So there is my 3 favourite breakfast meals, all take only a few minutes to cook / prepare but are packed with protein, carbs and healthy fats which is essential for any breakfast meal.
