Home Made Protein Slice

Finding a healthy treat can be hard to find or down right expensive.

There are plenty of high protein bars on the market but at $3.50+ per bar, stocking up on these adds a lot of cost to your weekly shopping bill. That’s where this high protein low carb slice comes in.

These home made protein slices make a fantastic snack throughout the day or an after dinner dessert. Top a slice will a little Greek yoghurt and bang you have that sweet treat without the guilt.

This recipe makes 12 individual slices or muffins and at roughly $0.40 to $0.60 depending on the brand of protein powder you use and only 75 calories per piece of slice it is a fantastic alternative to brand protein bars.

Recipe

Ingredients

4 scoops of low carb whey protein

2 whole eggs

1 cup of low fat greek yoghurt

½ cup of unsweetened almond milk

½ teaspoon of baking powder

Method

Pre heat your oven at 180deg

Combine all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.

Line a 10in baking tin with baking paper or a 12 muffin tray and pour in the mixture.

Place in the oven and bake for 20 -25 mixtures of until cooked. Check with a skewer (it should come out clean)

Remove from baking tin and allow to cool. Once cool cut the slice into 12 individual pieces and store in a Tupperware container in the fridge.
